The Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider 1600, produced between 1962 and 1965, is one of the most iconic Italian roadsters of the 1960s. Developed as the successor to the Giulietta Spider, the Giulia Spider retained Pininfarina’s elegant design while introducing significant mechanical improvements that elevated both performance and drivability.
At its heart lies a 1.6-liter inline-four engine with dual overhead camshafts, producing around 92 hp in standard form. Paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox—rare for its time—the engine allowed the lightweight roadster to reach a top speed of roughly 172 km/h (107 mph). These upgrades made the Giulia Spider noticeably more refined and spirited than its predecessor.
